What is a return?

Return vent is usually bigger than regular vent.

It pulls air out of the room and takes it to the furnace to recycle. In summer time, it takes hot air out of the room and gets it cool again, and in winter time, it takes cold air to get it warm.

Usually return vent has to stay open all the time, it does not have a switch, open or close.

Return line connects to the large main line.

Return line is typically located in the hallway.
