DRYER VENT CLEANING

DRYER FIRE PREVENTION IN YOUR HOME

In addition to air duct cleaning, our certified technicians also clean dryer vents. Having your dryer vents professionally cleaned regularly not only saves you money in energy efficiency, it can help prevent a dryer fire in your home.

Watch for the following signs that an air duct cleaning is overdue:

  • Dirty supply and return vent covers.
  • Dark filtration lines on the walls, ceiling or carpet that surround the vents.
  • Excessive dust in the home.
  • Variance in temperature or air flow throughout the house.
  • An increase in the energy needed to operate the HVAC system at desired settings.
  • This may indicate that dirt and debris are blocking coils and/or ductwork, restricting flow and spiking utility bills.
  • New furnace or ductwork.
  • A recent remodel/construction project.
  • Water damage or flooding that occurred in the ductwork, which could cause sediment build-up in the system.
When it comes to air duct cleaning, AAA Duct Cleaning never cuts corners. We don’t take what we do for granted. And we know that a cleaner, healthier home starts in your air ducts. We go beyond carpet cleaning.

WHY CLEAN DRYER VENTS?

  • Lint build-up creates an extreme fire hazard.
  • Blocked vents cause the dryer to work harder which shortens the life of the appliance.
  • Cleaning a blocked or restricted vent system reduces drying time which increases the efficiency of the dryer.
  • Reducing the drying time of the dryer saves money on utility bills and also on repair cost.
  • WHY NOT JUST REPLACE THE VENT?

Because many homes don’t have a short 5' to 10' section of vent running from the dryer to the basement window. Many homes and condominium complexes have a 20' to 50' vent pipe that is installed behind walls and ceilings. Most of which have 2 or 3 bends. It is not possible to replace these vents. Also, many homeowners do not feel comfortable replacing the vent themselves or can’t physically do it.

Another important point is that even if the vent is replaced, it is equally important to properly remove lint build-up from within the dryer and also around the dryer.
